Brian Digney
Organization: Standards Board for Alternative Investments (SBAI)


Brian Digney joined the SBAI in March 2023 in the role of Research and Content Director. He is responsible for content development and co-ordination of the ongoing and future working groups on a wide variety of topics, including valuation of private assets, ESG & carbon footprinting, governance, insurance linked strategies, digital assets, asset management regulation and compliance as well as new topics to be determined in the future. Prior to joining the SBAI, Brian was the Head of Due Diligence & Governance Oversight at Innocap Global Investment Management (Ireland) Ltd (2018-2023) in Dublin, a subsidiary of Innocap Investment Management Inc., a US$50bn hedge fund platform. He acted as Designated Person for Operational Risk Management, a regulated role by the Central Bank of Ireland. He also sat on Innocap’s Irish Risk Oversight and Valuation Committees. In 2017, Brian joined Albourne Partners in London as a Senior Operational Due Diligence Analyst. From 2015 to 2017 he was employed as an Operational Due Diligence Analyst at Mercer Sentinel in London. From 2010 to 2015 he held various Associate level roles at Decura LLP, Morgan Stanley and Citi.


Vanora Madigan
Organization: Waystone


Vanora is Global Head of Public Affairs, Managing Director at Waystone. Vanora has over 20 years’ experience in UCITS, AIFMD, and alternative investment vehicles and brings with her a background in legal, investment management, and client relationship management with over six years spent at Fidelity Worldwide Investment in Dublin, servicing corporates, banks, pension funds and financial institutions. Vanora is appointed to Irish Funds Council and is ex Vice Chairperson of the Irish Funds Marketing and Promotions Steering Group, is a Co Vice Chairperson of 100 Women in Finance in Ireland with responsibility for the input to the Irish Government’s ‘Ireland for Finance’ Action Plan.


Aaron Mulcahy
Organization: Maples Group


Aaron is a Partner of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's Dublin office. He advises on a wide variety of legal and regulatory issues facing Irish domiciled collective investment schemes (CIS) and has particular expertise in the establishment, operation and regulation of all types of Irish CIS, including UCITS and AIFs. He is also an active industry participant. He currently chairs the Irish Fund's ELTIF Working Group and previously sat on the Irish Funds ILP Working Group and Money Market Fund (MMF) Working Group.


Niamh Ryan
Organization: Simmons & Simmons


Niamh is a Partner and Head of the firm’s Funds practice in Dublin. She has extensive experience in the structuring and establishment of Irish regulated funds pursuing various strategies. She advises promoters and asset managers on all types of Irish domiciled UCITS and AIFs aimed at retail and sophisticated investors. Niamh has served on several industry committees over many years and spoken at numerous investment funds and regulatory conferences.


Alexandros Seretakis
Organization: Trinity College Dublin


Alexandros is Assistant Professor, Law at Trinity College Dublin. His teaching and research interests include financial regulation, alternative investment fund regulation, fintech and its regulation and corporate governance. His research is regularly featured in global media, including the Financial Times and the Banker. He has also acted as a consultant for a US investment holding company and has been appointed an expert in financial law at the European Court of Auditors in Luxembourg. Alexandros is a member of Blockchain Ireland Legal Working Group and an expert at the Digital Euro Association.


Carol Widger
Organization: Dechert LLP


Carol Widger is a partner in Dechert’s Investment Funds group in Dublin and Managing Partner of the firm’s Dublin office. Ms. Widger has 20 years’ experience advising fund promoters, fund managers, AIFMs, MiFID firms and other investment funds services firms, on matters relating to the establishment, launch and ongoing management of all types of investment funds, including UCITS and AIF products. Ms. Widger is a former Chair of Irish Funds' Legal Working Group and currently acts as a senior advisor of the Dublin location for 100 Women in Finance, where she was the former Chair and founding member.
